Ambient Light Sensor
This sensor detects the ambient light in a room and adjusts the display brightness accordingly.
Remote Control Sensor
The infrared remote signal is received here.
iPod/iPhone dock
Your iPod or iPhone sits securely in the integrated Universal Dock (iPod not included).
Time
The current time is shown here
iPod Charge Info
In iPod mode this area features icons that indicate whether your iPod is currently charging or fully charged. This area also lists alarm info in all modes, and when the r1 is turned off.
Mode List
The list of modes is shown here, controlled by the mode knob or the mode buttons on the remote control.
iPod Info
When an iPod or iPhone is docked, its display can be transferred to the r1, showing playlists, now playing, etc. In AM or FM mode the current radio station is shown here. When the r1 is turned off the current time appears.
CueTouch Dial
This dial is used for radio station tuning (in AM or FM Mode). In iPod Mode this dial is used to scroll through (by turning) playlists, etc., push to select.
Mode Knob
This knob is used to select a mode, turn to find mode and push to select.
Volume/Power Knob
Push to turn power on/off. Turn to control volume.
The Speaker
A magnetic, removable grille hides the custom, bi-amplified cs1 speaker.
